Evidence-Based Wound Management
Our registered nurses provide expert wound care in your home, from assessment and cleansing through to advanced dressings, debridement, and compression therapy. We support the healing of acute and chronic wounds while keeping you comfortable and minimising infection risk.
As a clinical support under the Support at Home Programme, wound care is fully government-funded — there is no participant contribution. We document progress carefully and coordinate with your GP or specialist to keep your treatment on track across Geelong and surrounds.
Our Wound Care Services
Wound Assessment
A nurse assesses the wound type, stage, size and how it is healing, documents it, and tracks progress between visits.
Wound Cleansing
Professional cleaning of wounds using appropriate solutions and techniques to remove debris, bacteria, and dead tissue while minimising trauma to healing tissues.
Dressing Application
Selection and application of appropriate dressings based on wound type, location, and stage of healing to create the optimal environment for recovery.
Debridement Services
Removal of dead, damaged, or infected tissue to improve the healing potential of the remaining healthy tissue, performed by qualified nurses using appropriate methods.
Compression Therapy
Application of specialised bandages or garments to improve circulation, reduce swelling, and support healing in venous leg ulcers and other conditions requiring compression.
Pain Management
Implementation of pain control strategies during wound care, including timing of dressing changes, appropriate medications, and comfort measures to reduce discomfort.
