Support for Carers and Their Loved Ones
Our respite services give family carers a break while ensuring your loved one continues to receive quality, consistent care — through in-home respite, day programmes, overnight support, and emergency respite when unexpected situations arise.
Respite is an Independence service under the Support at Home Programme, which replaced Home Care Packages on 1 November 2025. Your participant contribution is means-tested — from 5% for full pensioners up to 50% for self-funded retirees, with part-pensioners on a sliding scale between.

In-Home Respite
Skilled care workers provide support in your home, allowing family carers to take a break while ensuring your loved one receives consistent quality care.
Day Respite Programmes
Structured day programmes offering social activities, meals, and support in a community setting, providing positive engagement for the person receiving care.
Overnight Respite
Care support throughout evening and night hours, allowing family carers to get uninterrupted sleep or spend time away with confidence their loved one is in capable hands.
Emergency Respite
Urgent care arrangements when unexpected situations arise, ensuring your loved one receives support during family emergencies.
Recreational Respite
Engaging activities and outings tailored to interests and abilities, combining enjoyable experiences with necessary support.
Educational Respite
Learning opportunities combined with support care, fostering continued growth and mental stimulation for the person receiving care.
What it costs
Under Support at Home this is independence support: 5–50% Client Contribution (Independence services). Our full fee schedule is published, service by service.

A Care Partner meets you at home first, so you know who you are dealing with before anything starts. Our team includes Registered and Enrolled Nurses alongside community-services professionals.
